1. What did you learn?
I learned there are a whole lot of blogs out there. I also learned there is a leadership blog group that I've started to read. I believe it will be valuable in the future.
2. How will you use what you have learned?
I've learned creating and reading blogs is a great way to communicate. I can see teachers using this in their classrooms especially the older elementary kids.
3. How did you feel about this tool?
Again, I believe this is a great tool for an educator to use.
4. What do you not want to forget about this tool?
I don't want to forget how to research other blogs and learn from other educators.
5. How can this be used in the classroom or in your educational role?
Again I enjoyed reading the leadership blog website that found. I can see teachers and students using this in their classroom to comment on novels read etc.....
6. Should you use this in the classroom or your educational role?
Both, see above.
7. What questions do you have about this tool?
What else can you add to this?

Hi Cheryl,
Like you, I've read many other blogs, and sometimes I come away thinking, "What else is there to say that hasn't already been written by someone out there?" Then I remember that I have a unique audience, and it's for them that I write from my own perspective.

Cheryl,
It's so good to have an administrator's perspective in this class. If you haven't already checked it out, http://almostmonday.blogspot.com/ is an administrator's blog. He uses it as a way to get out announcements, encourage his teachers, welcome new employees, etc.
The biggest advantage I see to using a blog vs. emails is that it's so easy to search for past blogs using the TAGS instead of having to scroll through Lotus Notes to find the right Monday Morning Mail.
Do you think your campus teachers would be receptive to a blog like that?
Cheryl,
I am a week early to comment, but I will be out of town and trying to get some of my assignment done early. I am curious what leadership blog you are reading. Since I have a new principal, I would like to suggest it to her. Blogging comments may be seen faster than our school email. This may be a quicker way to communicate, especially if your teachers have a RSS reader and have subscibed to the school blogging site. Orteganic suggested Tags. I understand what Tags are, but I haven't started using them yet. I can't even remember to categorize my postings yet either. That is something I need to work on.
Hi Cheryl,
I think you are exactly what Education needs; a teacher who works, not only as a teacher and a mother but then as a Principal! Cheers to you!
I look forward to reading your blog throughout the class and I too am going to am going to add your blog to my RSS.

Hello Cheryl,
It's nice to "meet" you!
I agree that blogs are a wonderful communication tool. I think the ability to comment and carry on a virtual conversation is one of the most powerful features.
Since you have both an administration perspective and relatively recent teaching experience, it will be interesting to read what you have say!
