Week 4 Reflection

Definition of a Wiki: a great tool for communication. By creating a wiki, you can center it around any topic or group. For example, I can see a class using this to comment on a certain novel they are reading or some writing topic. It reminds me of a webpage with all of the subjects listed on the side.

This Wiki centers around Dr.Seuss. Our 1st grade team does a unit on Dr. Seuss. I will share this with them this next school year as a wonderful resource to use.

This Wiki centers around best practices in technology. Again this would be a great resource for teachers to use when integrating technology in their curriculum.

This Wiki is a site that offers a list of different wikis depending on what you are looking for. This would be a great resource for teachers and students.

Reflections:

What did you learn?
Another type of technology that I wasn't aware of.

How will you use what you have learned?
I will share this with other educators.

How did you feel about this tool?
I think it could be extremely valuable in education.

What do you not want to forget about this tool?
I would like to a School wiki that others can contribute to.

How can this be used in the classroom or in your educational role?
It would be a great resource and communication tool. I would need to research more wikis out there to be able to share with other educators.

Should you use this in the classroom or your educational role?
I think it would be a valuable tool for teachers to use. The big thing is, teachers don't feel they have enough time to create something like this. We would need to show them how valuable and easy this would be for them to use

What questions do you still have about this tool?
I need to continue looking at other Wikis.

Week 3 Reflection

This by far has been the most challenging. I had no problem creating a podcast, I just can't get it posted on my page. I've followed all the video training andf went step by step. Now I am at the point that I've done so many different things, that I'm ready to start from scratch.

Once I get past this glitch, then I can see how useful podcasting can be. I've found some samples out there and have like what I heard so far.
